Cheekytoes started as a family venture, born from our belief that the right footwear is key to natural foot development. For more than five years, we dreamt of creating our own business, and in 2026, that dream became a mission when we were frustrated by stiff, narrow shoes and searched for a healthier alternative for our son.

Research led us to barefoot shoes; their wide toe boxes and flexible soles let toes spread, and muscles work naturally. We turned our conservatory into a makeshift warehouse and used a spare room as our operations centre to build Cheekytoes from the ground up. The decisive spark came during a bus trip to Spain in December 2025. A visit to a barefoot shoe shop and a chat with its owner showed us how deeply we shared her passion and convinced us we could fill a similar gap at home.

With Fernanda’s passion for health, nutrition and fashion, and Gonzalo’s background in footwear retail and design, we decided to bring Spain’s finest barefoot shoes to families like ours.

Drawing on our own experience and the craftsmanship of Spanish shoemakers many of whom still hand‑craft children’s shoes using natural materials and careful finishing we founded Cheekytoes to offer UK parents a healthier, more sustainable choice.
